November 2007: Thanks for visiting my blog. In this blog I will hope for a discussion of nudist subjects. (a discussion means more than just Nudee talking!) I am hoping that this blog can make it easier for newbies to try the nudist lifestyle.

Subject: The first time.

Every nudist that I know that first went to a club or beach as an adult can tell you in detail about their first time. I thought if we could share some of these getting naked might not sound so scary.

My first time was in the early 80's. I was visiting my brother in California and he wanted to take me to his cabin. The only problem was that his cabin was in a naturist club. I was pretty terrified about the whole thing and almost backed out. I am so glad that I didn't because it changed my life. All of these years later I am still glad to be nude and free.
We arrived at his club and the first thing that happened was he told the office staff that I had been to a club in Michigan and belonged to the MSA (the old name of AANR - Midwest). I didn't even know what he was talking about, but he said they would make me go through orientation if I had never been to a club before and since we were just there for the afternoon he didn't want to wait for me to do that. We went to his cute little (9X12) cabin and he started undressing. Now my brother was 11 years older than I and we did not come from a nudist family. Anyway I just took a deep breath and took mine off too. He showed me how to drape a towel over my shoulder so I would feel more comfortable and he told me to always sit on a towel. Then we were off for a tour of the beautiful grounds. Everyone was so friendly. After 5 minutes I felt comfortable. When I got back to Michigan I had a new goal. That was to find my very own nudist club and that club was Forest Hills. How we found it back then (before the internet) is a subject for another day.

We actually made our first trip to a nudist camp in the mid 80s, I had always wanted to go but never knew exactly how to go about it, I had heard so many rumors, like you had to know some one, made it look like it was some kind of secret club, all these rumors proved to be untrue, well one day at work I was talking about camping with a co-worker, and he jokingly mentioned that a local nudist camp was having a open house, let me tell you my ears perked up, soon as I got home I told the wife I knew of a camp with a pool, hot tub, and a clubhouse, she was all excited till I explained what it was, now my wife's no prude and has a small wild streak in her, but the thought of walking around nude in front of everybody made her a little uneasy, she agreed to try, when we arrived, the man at the desk was more than friendly, probably could spot it was our first time, as we drove through the park looking for our camp site everybody was waving hi at us, so unlike all the clothing camps, and state parks we had been to, several people came over and introduced themselves ,we were feeling right to home, the wife started out with a towel wrapped tightly around her but within the hour that was history if it wasn't for our tan lines you wouldn't have known we were new bees. that first experience changed our camping lives forever

 

Dear Nudee, Thanks for sharing your first time with us. My wife and I became first timers a little over a year ago. It kind of started out as a dare. Neither one of us thought the other one would ever go through with it. We decided to visit Forest Hills on a week day when we were sure there would not be very many people there. All the way there we kept asking each other "are you sure"? hoping the other would chicken out first. I'm glad to say that neither one us was brave enough to chicken out in front of the other. When we arrived we were both impressed at how nice the club was. It was a beautiful sunny day and luckily there were only a few people there that morning. The staff at Forest Hills made us feel very comfortable and welcome. We only stayed for a few hours that first time but come the following week end, we could not wait to get back. This time there were a lot more people around the pool, most of them members. In no time at all the members had welcomed us into their group and we found ourselves laughing and talking way into the night. After that first night, to the credit of the wonderful people at Forest Hills, we became regular visitors and eventually members. We have found that nudists are the warmest and friendliest people we have ever met, and they sure know how to throw a great party. Our only regrets are that we didn't become nudists 20 years earlier.

Dear Nudee

  My husband and I have been members of Forest Hills club eleven years now and lovin every minute of it.  The first time he took me to FHC we were dating and he asked me if I’d like to check it out.  I said “ well if you don’t mind me running around with my clothes off, I certainly won’t mind”.  The place was beautiful and the people friendly.  We had a great time!  We started going all the time and our new friends said we should become members.  We did and now we have a wonderful place we spend our entire summers at.  From the first of May till the end of October we live there.  It is so sad when we have close the warm summer home up for the winter but we do still spend time with all our nude friends through out the winter months having parties with music, dancing, and social gatherings.

 

December 23, 2007: Have a wonderful holiday to my nude and nude-curious friends. Will you have a nude Christmas? Let's have that as our discussion for January. How often are you nude at home during the winter? I realize some of you are snow-birds so you really don't count. I know that we are not nude as often in the winter as we can't afford the heating bill & we can't run outside to the mailbox or to walk the dogs naked at home. But I think we are much more likely to dress in "Forest Hills wear" (sweats, bathrobes, anything warm....no matter what it looks like)  when at home in the winter. Most of our friends who drop by are nudists anyway and wouldn't think anything of it. In fact some of you may remember our nude Christmas parties of old at our house. Dear Nudee,
I want to pass Holiday greetings to all my new friends that i had met last summer.
I was very surprised with the staff and members,which made  my first visit to Forest hills was very pleasant.
In the winter months i am nude as much as i can be, when there is a little chill i do put on a shirt. Otherwise i only dress to go out into the world. Our Christmas w/families are over so it's a relaxing nude day in our home this day.
Each passing day is 1 more day closer to visiting again.
stay healthy --- stay nude.

Dear nudee

  Me and my wife don't get nude at home as much as we would like, but we are from time to time during the week as we have a hot tub, and clothing is not a option in there, we have lot's of friends over during the winter to use it, and there has been several that has been there first nude experience in it, and yes I do remember your Christmas parties of old they were great and bring back some very pleasant memories, we also had a real nice time bringing in the New Year with several of my real good friends from Forest Hills, we really enjoy staying in touch with everybody through the winter months, and usually a couple of times during the winter we meet at the camp to spend a weekend up at our heated trailers in the forest.

Another gray day making me long for the sunshine. Today I would like to recall how we found Forest Hills in the olden days (before the internet). Way back then we still had AANR which was then the ASA (American Sunbathing Association) We wrote to them regarding nudist clubs in our area. At that time there was a group call North American Naturists and we joined that group. As a part of the membership we got free days at area clubs in the mid-west. We went to all the clubs in Michigan ending with Forest Hills. (There was no Turtle Lake at that time.)  I remember joining Forest Hills on the lure of the beautiful pool and the friendliness of the members. It is still that for me today except I am much more comfortable doing it now. I remember it seemed such a secretive thing to be a nudist and to have a locked gate to go through. Little did I know that in reality it is an opening of your mind and attitude.   That's all for now. Happy winter. Nudee

Feb. 8, 2008:  This is just a notice to let all members know that the BOD will be taking submissions for staffing for the summer of 2008. We need office help for during the week and for the weekends. Please itemize what you are willing to do and what you would like in return. We would like to get everything in place for opening day May 1. Thanks. :) We are also looking for ideas, and volunteers to host activities. See Amy or Dee K. if you are interested in hosting something. We will help you  :D

We had over 500 hits in less than a week.

Thanks for all of the nice comments on the video. I'll sure be glad for February to be over. If all goes as they say we will break the all time record for snow this month here. I'm tired of it. I took my dogs over to the dog park earlier this week and it was a sheet of ice. Next it will be a quagmire of mud!! Looking forward to summer and getting naked!! Saves on the laundry too! Keep your chin up spring is on its way!

Well opening day is only a couple of weeks away and we have the weather to prove it. Plans are to turn the water on this week and get the pool ready to be filled this weekend.
